Dr. Tyler Koupal provides metal-free zirconia dental implants as a biocompatible solution for replacing missing teeth.
Ceramic dental implants are a strong, long-lasting solution for replacing missing teeth. Made from a high-strength ceramic material called zirconia, they offer many benefits over titanium implants.
Metal-Free: Dr. Koupal uses SDS zirconia implants, one of the few implant systems designed to be 100% metal-free, including the implant screw.
Biocompatible: Zirconia is highly biocompatible, reducing the risk of inflammation, allergic reactions, or interference with the body's natural energy flow.
Naturally White: Ceramic implants are made from naturally white zirconia that closely resembles the color of natural teeth.
Supports Healthy Gums: Compared to titanium, ceramic implants attract less plaque and bacteria, helping reduce the risk of peri-implantitis (gum disease around a dental implant).
Corrosion-Resistant and Non-Conductive: Ceramic implants are completely resistant to corrosion and do not conduct electricity.
Ceramic dental implants aren't just for missing teeth. They can also be an excellent solution for failing teeth, root canal alternatives, and even replacing existing titanium implants.
Whether you've recently lost a tooth or have been living with a gap for years, ceramic implants provide a long-lasting replacement that restores the appearance and function of your smile.
At Kairos Holistic Dental, ceramic implants are often recommended as an alternative to root canal therapy. Rather than leaving a dead tooth in the mouth, we remove it and replace it with a metal-free ceramic implant that better aligns with our biological philosophy.
Some teeth reach a point where saving them is no longer possible. In those cases, removing the tooth and replacing it with a ceramic implant gives you back a healthy, fully functional tooth without any metal.
Patients who already have titanium implants may choose to replace them with ceramic implants as part of a more holistic, metal-free approach.
A successful ceramic implant involves more than precise placement. Dr. Koupal's protocol supports your body before, during, and after treatment.
About four weeks before your procedure, Dr. Koupal begins a personalized healing protocol that includes targeted supplementation as well as nutritional and lifestyle recommendations to help prepare your body for surgery.
Every implant is precisely planned using 3D CBCT imaging to minimize disruption to the surrounding bone and tissue. During the procedure, Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) and ozone therapy may also be used to further support the healing process.
Following your procedure, healing is supported with in-office red light therapy, ongoing supplementation, and personalized recovery guidance from Dr. Koupal and his team.
Dr. Koupal carefully selected the SDS ceramic implant system because it aligns with Kairos Holistic Dental's commitment to biocompatibility, long-term reliability, and exceptional quality.
No Metal Screw
Unlike many ceramic implant systems that still rely on a metal screw, SDS implants are metal-free from top to bottom.
Clean Implant Certified
Independently tested to ensure the implant is free from plastic particles and cytotoxic residues that can compromise the healing process.
Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty
SDS backs every implant with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, reflecting the company's confidence in the quality of its implant system.
We start with a comprehensive new patient exam, including 3D CBCT imaging and a digital scan of your teeth. Dr. Koupal will evaluate your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine whether a ceramic implant is the best solution for your situation.
Successful implant treatment starts with preparation. About four weeks before surgery, Dr. Koupal provides a personalized protocol that includes targeted supplementation, nutritional guidance, and lifestyle recommendations to support your body going into the procedure.
On the day of your procedure, we carefully remove the tooth if necessary, disinfect the area with ozone, and place the ceramic implant using 3D-guided planning. PRF and bone grafting may also be used to support healing, and when appropriate, you'll leave with a temporary tooth the same day.
Over the next four to six months, your ceramic implant naturally integrates with the surrounding bone while your personalized healing protocol continues. Throughout this phase, Dr. Koupal and his team monitor your progress to ensure everything is healing as expected.
Once healing is complete, your final ceramic crown is custom-crafted and securely attached to the implant, giving you a strong, permanent tooth that looks like it was always there.

A ceramic dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a biocompatible zirconia implant that is placed in the jawbone. Over time, the implant naturally integrates with the surrounding bone, creating a stable foundation for a custom ceramic crown that looks and functions like a natural tooth.
Yes. Whenever appropriate, Dr. Koupal places a temporary crown on the same day as your implant. If a temporary crown isn't recommended for your situation, we'll provide a natural-looking alternative, such as a flipper or Essix retainer.
While every case is different, most ceramic implants heal for approximately four to six months before the final crown is placed. Your treatment also includes a personalized preparation protocol that begins about four weeks before surgery to help support optimal healing.
The cost of a ceramic dental implant depends on your individual treatment needs, including whether a tooth extraction, bone graft, or additional procedures are required. After your comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Koupal will walk you through a personalized treatment plan so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward.
Kairos Holistic Dental is an out-of-network provider, but we can submit claims on your behalf and you may be eligible for reimbursement depending on your plan.
